UEFA EURO 2004 Kicks Off on CABLE TV on June 12
(Hong Kong June 1, 2004) Hong Kong Cable Television Limited (CABLE TV),
the official broadcaster for UEFA EURO 2004, will carry all 31 matches
of the three-week tournament live from June 12 to July 4, 2004.
Super
Soccer Channel (Ch. 61) will be the main Euro channel while Sports Channel
(Ch. 62) will carry some matches when kick-off time clashes. All matches
will have full English commentaries available via NICAM service. Apart
from LIVE matches, there will also be repeats and highlights during daytime
and evening primetime.
The
station plans to invite 150 soccer fans every night during the tournament
to watch the matches LIVE from a purpose-built studio in its headquarters
together with a group of local celebrities .
Details
of the tournament coverage were announced in a colourful ceremony today
hosted by CABLE TV's Vice-President, News and Sports, Mr Ronald Chiu and
Director, Sports, International and Promotion, Ms Musetta Wu.
