CABLE TV Hundred Days Countdown for UEFA EURO 2004

Hong Kong Cable Television Limited (CABLE TV), the official broadcaster for the UEFA EURO 2004, announced yesterday (February 29) for the 3-month long lead-in programming and promotion campaign of the tournament.

On yesterday's press conference, it was announced CABLE TV would exclusively carry the most comprehensive coverage of UEFA EURO 2004 live from June 12 to the Final on July 4. Content of the lead-in programmes and live schedule for the tournament were introduced on the occasion.

Mr Ronald Chiu, Vice President of News & Sports said, "Since 1996, CABLE TV have been the official broadcaster for UEFA EURO for the third time. In production of EURO 2004, we will continue to bring in the success of the 2002 World Cup Carnival and in addition with new ideas. We are confident that we can give viewers another fresh experience of watching the tournament on TV." Moreover, CABLE TV will go on to take advantages on its multi-channel nature and multi-angle features of the service, covers all the 31 matches live on its sports platform.

Starting from Monday (March 1), CABLE TV will launch a package of programmes on both CABLE Sports Channel (Channel No. 62) and Super Soccer Channel (Channel No. 61) to usher in the month-long Finals beginning from June 12. They include a Lead-in programme "EURO Rock'n'Roll" which will be shown on every Monday and Tuesday starting from March 1 at 11:00pm on Super Soccer Channel. Other programmes include documentaries featuring the memorable moment in the past 50 years history of EURO games. Travelogue programmes to cities of Portugal will bring the latest preparatory progress of the host country and various national teams. Besides, selected exciting warm-up matches will be carried.
